I became disabled due to my job. Drs said I will never return to that caliber job again. Can I sue?

My Brother was sick for 14 months before he died. I moved from DC to NY to care for him for the entire 14 months. I managed my job and my brother well. I was given a 14% pay increase during this time. It was during Covid and I had to manage the entire global payroll on my own, due to a hiring freeze. I was never allowed time off. If they gave me time off, I spent it working the entire time.

I was the Global Payroll Manager, but had no employees under me. If I needed help, I had to go to my boss, who was very unavailable.

My job told me to hire an assistant to help me, and who could step in while I was away from work. When the time came.

The person who was supposed to take my place while I was out of work, she didnt step up, and ghosted work. I told my boss, but she didn't step into my job. I do Global payroll, and could not ignore the fact that it wasn’t getting done. I was forced to work, while my brother was in hospice and during his funeral, and was never given the 5 days of bereavement leave, I was entitled to. I sucked it up and continued to push grief down and work. 3 months after my brother died. I needed an Emergency hysterectomy. I was on FMLA for 12 weeks. My boss did my job while I was out for hysterectomy, Because she was reprimanded for not stepping up, when my brother died. 9 months after my return to work from hysterectomy, I had a mental breakdown. My diagnoses ended up being CPTSD, due to unprocessed trauma. I have been on LTD since, and now I’m being told by my Drs that my brain will not recover enough for me to go back to working in my field and this has harmed my financial stability. I want to sue my employer for ruining my career. Can I do that?
