Back surgery

I fell off a work stand and had bck surgery in August of 2001. I ws laid-off from my job this May of 2003. I can not due the job I have done for over 36 years due to the pain and the limited movement in my back.Due I have to be completly disabled to collect S/S
payments now.I am 58 years old.I have been out of work for over three months, I am afraid no one will hire me at my age with a bad back.What are my options? I am still seeing the doctor.Trying to make ends meet.Can not pay for this advice.

SS Benefits Question

I would recommend you call a lawyer in your area that specialized in social security disability applications and benefits. many of them work on a contingency fee basis. Also, why did you not mention an application for workers compensation benefits. That should have been an automatic. I hope that you have already consulted with a workers comp attorney.
