Do I have a case or what are my options?A

Hello, I and a co worker took a break and as we walked down stairs there is a bar in our building. My co worker asked If I wanted to grab a drink ..knowing better I said no but proceeded with him to the bar as he ordered a beer. I did not order anything nor was drinking anything I just had went through something with family and was telling my co working about it. As he ordered his beer a woman appeared in front of our table and had a clear view of the table she was standing right in front of it and looked at he and I both which I thought was weird but did not think anything of it. My break was almost up so I looked to him and said i am going back up are you coming..he quickly finished he beer and we left. as I clocked back in within 10 minutes the manger came to me and said I need to talk to you in my office. I want to the office and he had some files in front of him and as I looked to my left it was the same lady I saw downstairs in front of our table. I had never seen this lady before than . He asked did you go down stairs today? I stated yes I went down on my break. He than said did you have a drink ? I said no I did not. He lookes over to the lady who turns out to be someone from our HR department and she held up two fingers. He looks at me and states there was two beer bottles. I stated no there was not because I did not drink but that my coworker was the one who had the drink. At this point why would I deny it as I now recognized her. I was very honest and quick with my answers. He than aske well how sure are you , you did not have a drink. i said I am 100 percent. He states so if we pull the transactions downstaris we wont see your card and I said no because i did not drink or order anything. They acted as if they did not know the other person was there who actually had the beer. They said I was excused. they brought the other person in who stated he was the one drinking a beer and that I did not have a beer or order anything. The problem I have is for someone in the HR persons role how should could so persistantly insist I was drinking when I was not...do i have a case about this? I was falsely accused of something with out the facts being fully investigated..

Once this was done I felt uncomfortable at my work place. I felt before they even new the facts had already in there minds they were going to write me up or fire me. They did not write me up but the other person did get written up but they also told me not to discuss this with anyone and told the other person that if he discussed it with anyone he would lose his job. I held off on seeking advise in fear of losing my job or retaliation. Recently I saw the HR person in the elevator three months after the fact and she states you are "danny" I said yes she stated "Im sorry about everything that happend and meant to call you in my office and say sorry but the Manager said you will be fine" The problem is the apology came three months to late. I have felt stressed because of that instance about my job and feel uncomfortable. The HR person insisted there was two beer bottles when she had a clear view that there was not, so I feel they wanted to pin the whole thing on me ... what are my options here?

From what you describe it does not sound like there is anything for you to do. They saw a potential problem and investigated it. After investigating they decided you were innocent and that was the end of it. It doesn't sound like they are holding it against you or that your job is jeopardized.
