If an employer had me sign a "employee guidelines" form is it permanently binding?

upon employment a company had me sign a paper; that I would have no contact with any client that I met while working for them should I stop my employment with them. employment with them lasted 2 1/2 months. is this binding? the paper I signed is vague.
