I was hired at an insurance company under the stipulation that I pay and take the life insurance class online, pay and take the test at a state certified testing facility and train unpaid until they deemed fit, pay for my licence ect... I paid for all and

Lower mgmt lied to upper mgmt about me. She made me out to have immoral work practices, ethics and integrity. The trainer for an insurance company took me out of town to train with her. I had already paid for and taken the online course, paid for and taken the state exam to get my life insurance licence and was at the end of my 1st week of on the job training. The trainer went somewhere she wasnt supposed to go with me and violated cinpany policy as well as put my life in danger. We left the area where she wasnt supposed to have gone at 11 or 11:30 pm. We had been up since 8am that morning. She kept falling asleep at the wheel. At 4:30am she had a blow out and had no spare tire, no jack or lug wrench. I told her "you probably dont want to hear this but, ( she put her hands over her ears and said she didnt want to hear it), i said well you need to. One traveler to another...you never go on a road trip without a spare." Later i told her, "i would have already hitch hiked home but i wouldnt leave her on the side of the road alone." I even tapped her on the arm later and said, "its going to be ok!" I was upset but understanding that she just didnt have a clear understanding of her responsibilities as a traveler. Later when we were waiting for a tow truck, she started falling asleep. I told her, "oh no! If i cant sleep neither can you." She stated, "i can take a nap if i want to." At that point i was mad at her and i refused to talk to her. I did inform her i would not be to work monday and i was going to txt her boss to that fact. As i did so. I needed sleep and had responsibilities to take care of which had become impossible to do on my only day off. ie: laundry and errands. On monday i shot a text to the boss above her to call me when he had a moment. When he called me. I asked, " so whats the game plan?" He proceeded to tell me that i was very disrespectful to the trainer. That i called her a pussy and was threatening to leave her on the side of the road and hitch hike home. I then was dismissed from my job. Everything she said was a fabrication (a lie). I have put at least 160 hours into that job in two weeks and over $300 of my sons money to make this work. I really put my effort into this job. With no pay and was fired because she lied. It is my belief that she did so to try and hide what she had done from the company but regardless, her lies cost me my job. She said I called her a pussy. Which in fact I did not even get mad at her until she fell asleep. Then I didn't even talk to her. Is this defamation per se? Can they fire me especially after putting in all those hours and money out of pocket over a lie?
