Do I have any recourse if my job is going from full time to part time?

I have just been told one of our locations is closing in 8 weeks and my job as the accountant is now going from full time to part time (so no benefits). I understand that I can have insurance through COBRA (pretty expensive). Additionally a person that was hired 2 months ago as full time is keeping her status and benefits. I have been with the company 5 years. I am 55 and new girl is 26. I was also told that she would be taking on some of my duties. She also makes $15/hr versus my $28 per hour. It sounds a bit like discrimination.
Do I have any recourse?
