non compete laws in Florida

If a 1099 worker is told by the owner of the company they are working for they must sign non compete contract or be terminated, the worker only allowed briefly to read over it, not given a copy, not witnessed or notarized. Is this contract enforceable after the worker has left? Is the contract invalid because the worker was not given a copy and it was not witnessed? Forcibly signed?

More would have to be known to provide a more conclusive answer, but in general they are enforceable even if you did not want to sign and were give a short period of time to review. I recommend that you have an attorney review the agreement and the circumstances leading up to it being signed before doing anything that could be considered a breach. Hope this helps.
