hi, mania. congratulations on your interest in pursuing a legal career, and on planning ahead.
i don't know what the requirements are in canada, but in the united states, ordinarily you must complete four years of college and then three years of law school, and then pass an intensive three-day examination, to become a lawyer. there are some states, like california, that allow you to go to law school without a college degree.
surprisingly, the courses most important to your future success in law school are probably not the ones in history and government that you would expect would be important, but courses that teach you logic, like math, physics and philosophy. you need to be able also to write very well and clearly. also, if your school has a debate team, join it! debating helps you to organize your thoughts, work logically through an argument, think on your feet, and to argue a position you don't necessarily personally agree with. all these are skills that will be helpful to you in the future, no matter what you decide to do.
good luck!
