i quit my job i received my final paycheck, but i earned sales commission and did not get paid, is this legal?

I worked for Cintas corp as a service sales rep.I quit my job, i received my final paycheck. during the month of august we had a sales contest in which I added product(commission) to my route also my my quarterly bonus which is tied in with my route volume and and added product, I was never paid out on the sales contest plus my route quarterly bonus. Is this legal? I was told since i quit before the month of august was over I had to forfeit those bonuses? Is that legal???

If you did everything required to be eligible for the commission, you have a good argument that you are entitled to it, despite quitting. The old saying is "He who shakes the tree is entitled to gather the fruit." Some important factors are what the written commission plan says, and the nature of your sales work. Definitely worth reviewing with an attorney.
