do i have grounds to take my employer to court for a layoff based on retaliation

filed a grievance about missed overtime opportunities that i should have been offered according to the contract at hearing we couldn't come to agreement was told by boss if i took matter to next level i could be laid off.I am the only one in the company certified by contract to do that job i was later laid off the company said it was due to lack of funds yet my duties was given to some one else in the company and the overtime grievance still has not been settle at the next level which is another violation of the contract which states someone with my title shall retain there job duties while employed in that dept
