Was it wrong why I got terminated

I was hired at Walmart a little over a month ago. It was a fast track hiring process I was told. I was hired for a temp position. Two weeks ago I was called into the managers office and they offered me a full time position with their company. I accepted. Then yesturday I was called back into the office and they said I was terminated because of my backround check. A conviction that happens three years ago. They didn't know what the conviction was they said and said I didn't have to tell them. But as of now they have to terminate me. Is this fair? And they sàid i had to wait til the next payday to receive my paycheck. I thought if you are terminated they have to give you your last paycheck
