Overtime at different sites?

Hello. I am employed at a Gas Station, as well as my sister. She works at a store owned and managed by the same individual as where I work. Apart from these two stores he manages a third store. My sister is constantly asked to work at the third store, due to a shortage of employees. Mostly every week she works overtime, but the manager always asks her to clock in and out on separate time sheets, hence he pays her in two checks, a personal check for the hours worked at the third store and a business check, with the hours worked at the first store and regular pay. Is this legal? If he manages both stores and he asks her to work at the other one, is he not obligated to pay her overtime in one check?

Overtime at different sites

Generally speaking, time working at different locations for the same employer must be added together for the purposes of calculating overtime. It is not possible to give a definitive answer without knowing a little more about the corporate structure involved but at first blush it looks likely that the time should be added together.
