My employer had me train my replacements with false promises of a promotion, what can I do?

I've worked the Credit Department for this company for 7 months, 4 weeks ago, I was told someone else would be doing my job, and that I was going to be in charge of our other warehouses, 2 weeks ago anot her new employee was given the charge of our other warehouses. All the while after calling my boss to a meeting and asking him what was going on, he advised I was going to be promoted to purchasing department. Therefore for the last month I have trained the new employees on my previous job descriptions, I've been given odd jobs around the office. And expected to train the new employees that were handed my job, yet my boss has now asked me to take days off. I feel as if my boss was purposely creating a hostile environment to get me to quit and now that I have showed these newcomers how the work is done my hours are being cut, as a final hope for me to quit my job. I have not even been given the purchasing department position as promised. Yet my employer is telling me to take the day off being I have more experience and senority over the newcomers. Could this be because I get paid more?
