Job Abandonment in FLORIDA.

If an employee in FLORIDA is scheduled to work until 5pm but clocks out and walks off the property at 3pm with no notice, no authorization, and no attempt to contact a member of management and has not responded to the several correspondences from management can this be interpreted as job abandonment? What if then the employee shows back at work on the next scheduled shift as though nothing ever happened?
