employee didn't call or show up for work for 2 days

I had an employee who was a no call, no show for 2 days. Still haven't heard anything from them. Is this job abandonment?

I can be considered job abandonment, however, if there is a medical reason for the absence and the employee is otherwise eligible for leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act, you may be required to provide him/her with up to 12 weeks of leave.

Yes, unless you have a signed contract with the employee that provides otherwise, or a handbook that provides otherwise.
