Is there anything I can do about a false positive on a drug test?

The company I work for was just bought out, so all existing employees had to re-apply. A drug test was done and I tested positive for opiates. I tried to explain that it was possible that the positive was from the lemon poppyseed muffin loaf I'd eaten that morning, and I showed them data that poppyseeds can cause a false positive for up to 48 hours after ingestion. They gave me until the end of the day to get retested. I waited till about 2 hours before the office closed and tried again, but it was still positive. I told them that any test I took for 48 hours could be false and that I didn't take any drugs or medication, but they said they now had 2 tests showing me positive. The complicated part is that they said I wasn't fired, but rather I just wasn't being hired with the new company. Is there anything I can do? I've heard about hair follicle testing, but I can't afford it right now, as I only have enough for about one months rent.
