I live in Oregon but am employed remotely by a company in North Carolina, am I eligible for FMLA?

I work full-time for a company that is based in North Carolina. I live in Oregon full time and work remotely. I am about to adopt a child. I would like to take some time as FMLA on top of what my vacation will get me. My HR Dept. is stating that I am not eligible because I don't live within 75 miles of any of the company's locations. I would like to know if I am eligible for either state or federal FMLA while I am living in Oregon?
