Can I reqest more severence?
I have worked the same job for the last 20 years. A year ago our business unit was sold to a finance company and we became our own company. I was recently laid off and my severence is so much less than it would have been had we not been sold and remained part of the parent company. Should my severence be based on 20 years service in basically the same job or the year we have been an independent company?
