Got terminated even tho I was promised a Skelly Hearing. Can I get a lawyer to sue?

I recieved a proposed action against me in a form on termination. The personnel informed me that I can get a skelly hearing or forfeit it and go straight to termination. She highly recommended me going with the Skelly hearing since I most of the times my sort of punishment goes down to just a suspensention with pay or even get no punishment. She said it would take some time for the skelly hearing since the officer is currently busy (this was on Oct. 1 2018) but I would be put on paid leave of absence until I have that hearing and my union would call me with the dates and info. Its now Dec. 3 2018 and I have not heard anything from my union or anyone. No phone call. No email . No letter. Yet my coworker informed me that her Supervisor was informed I'm no longer with the Employment and Human services department. I emailed the personnel about this situation and I noticed he had emailed me a couple weeks ago but it never reached me since it went to spam. In the email it said that according to a 3rd communication party (I have no idea who or what that is) I said that I wanted to skip the skelly hearing and go straight to termination. Which is a complete lie. I emailed back saying no it's not true and also I'm still waiting. As well as called and left a message. My question is.... can I sue them? ... can a lawyer get involved?... how much will it cost me? .... how much can I get from this?
