Do I Have a legitiment Case?

I am currently employed at a fortune 300 company as a customer sells representative. Recently, I was suspended from my job due to violation of company policy. A short time after, I was notified from an outside party that my job status was disclosed to another outside party without my consent. The information was discloses by a senior manager at the job site. Also, the information was discussed over the phone which i feel makes the fact of the matter worse. I feel that this violates my Privacy of information act. Am I correct? I took this happening very seriously. Does anyone feel that I have a legitimate case to sue?
