Defamation? 3rd party lie got me fired.

I am a contractor who gets paid by a staffing firm but I work on site at a client location. The owner of the staffing firm told a lie to my immediate superior at the client location which she knew would bring my integrity into question. This conversation resulted in my immediate termination from my contract (early) and a loss of over 25k and damage to my reputation in my industry.

Possibly. It's hard to say more specifically without knowing more details. It's a worth your time to talk to a local employment attorney in greater detail.
