Competition for a machine tool company

I have a one year non compete. I want to set up my own machine shop which will be competing against my employer after one year. Its going to take me one year to set the business up (ordering machines and coming up with drawings). I know I can't compete before the year is up but can I make the molds and parts I need to make the parts the will make revenue. Another words there are a lot of cores and molds I need to make before hand. Can I get started making these non revenue earning processes befor the year is up? Thanks, Brad

non-compete

Brad. Call me at 832-524-9002. It is not a simple answer. Is the word "compete" defined in the agreement? Was there consideration for the non-compete? Is it limited in time, scope and geographic area? It may not be enforceable.
