Can they refuse to give me sick pay? Im desperate, need to know.
I work at a place here in california. We have 3 days sick pay each year. the issue is, when we are sick even with doctors note, they do not give us sick pay for that day. instead they only pay us once a year in a three day sick pay check, wether we are sick or not. I need the sick pay now because of bills. I went to doctor, gave them note, as I had the flu and was very sick. can they tell me no if I ask for it? I am seldom sick and hardly ever call in. I am part time employee, but have the hours for sick pay already.
