Can my employer force me to have an interview with their outside attorney?

Hello,

Last week my Supervisor told me that I would have an interview with their "outside counsel" regarding my job description as a Sales Planner. We have an inside attorney, but this is a law firm my company hired. This was the first I heard of this. (I am a level 2 Sales Planner and exempt from overtime. We have level 1 Sales Planners that are non-exempt, we do the same job - just different titles and salaries.)I then received an invitation to the meeting from our HR Dept. The person I would be meeting with is an Associate at a law firm that is for Employers. I agreed to the meeting, but now am having second thoughts. Can I decline this meeting?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best Regards,
M
