Can an employer cancel an approved vacation because it would be inconvenient to another employee? are they required to pay for the cost of my plane ticket which is non refundable
My mother works for a doctor in a small office he co workers mother is ill, my mother purchased a plane ticket to visit me and had her time off approved now a week before her flight they told her she cannot take the time off because the co workers mother "might" die. Can they do this and are they obliged to compensate her for the non refundable ticket
