Document Manager
The Document Manager, located under the Documents tab, allows Attorneys to upload documents and browse documents by topics. The Document Manager is built into the Q&A Answer function. That is, you can attach (upload) a document to an Answer. The site saves the Document in the Document database.
Uploading Documents
Attorneys can upload documents using the Document Tab or by attaching a document to an Answer. The site does not, however, let attorneys upload documents when writing a Blog or Wiki article. (See Adding Documents to a Blog or Wiki article, below, to link a document to a Blog or Wiki Article).
To upload a document using the Document Manager:
- click on the Document Tab;
- click on Post a Document;
- select a state or select "Applies to All State";
- assign a Category to the document;
- browse to the document on your computer and click on it;
- fill in the Document Title; and
- describe the Document (optional).
Adding Documents to an Article
Unfortunately, you cannot add a Document to a Blog or Wiki Article within the Blog or Wiki Article page itself. Instead, you must:
- go to the Document Manager;
- upload the document;
- return to the Article; and
- insert the Document title into the Article using the Find Internal Links button on the Blog or Wiki toolbar. See Adding Links to Q&As and Blog and Wiki Articles
Searching Documents
You can retrieve Documents by:
- selecting a topic from the Topic Menu on the left hand side of the Home and Document pages;
- searching with the Search box at the top left corner of each page; or
- if attached to a question or an answer, clicking on the link attached to the question or answer.
