Will FMLA negatively affect my retirement?

I have worked in a Pennsylvania public school district for 21 years and need to use FMLA to get a revision for a total hip replacement that has worn out and is metal on metal. My district is completely aware of my situation and supports my leave. My FMLA time will be unpaid through the district, but I will receive payment through a long-term disability insurance plan I have.
