Unpaid commissions, w-2 employee

One year ago, I was a licensed assistant realtor on a team of agents. I gave written notice and was walked out. I was a W-2 employee, and paid commissions only. When I turned in my notice I had 7 homes under contract equaling $80k in commissions. My split would have been $19k. I was not paid anything. I had an attorney advise me against filing a claim with the TWC, and now am past the time limit on that. That attorney would not represent us because he said we needed an employment attorney that understands real estate. I cannot find one.
