Unlawful termination

I am over 40yrs, female and was recently laid off from my management job of 11 months. There were 40 people laid off. The only two managers who were laid off were myself and another female (tho she was under 40). We were very highly paid. Out of the 7 managers reporting to this man, none of the male managers were affected. Some of the other employees were offered other positions. We were not. Reason was given as needing to cut costs. This happened after our original male, over 40 yr. manager (who hired us) was forced to leave and we got a new male manager (not sure how old he is). This company has a very pervasive 'boys club' atmosphere. While the male manager who was forced to leave recieved generous severance, myself and the other female manager received 2 weeks inlieu of notice just like all the other worker bees. I filed a discrimination suit with EEO on sex and age but they do not feel it is very strong. We are going to mediation. What can I do to strengthen my case?

Sex discrimination

Sounds like an interesting case but I would need to know more about the other managers whe were not selected for layoff. Also, are you represented currently? I am in a deposition today but can be reached at 415-487-0426 tomorrow for a free telephone consultation. Best Regards, Rihcard Vaznaugh
