Teacher 30 days letter of resignation

I am a teacher. If my contract has a 30 day notice in writing for resignation...can my employer deny my resignation? (The School agrees to accept the resignation, provided the teacher shall make application in writing to the principal not less than 30 days. Teacher is obligated, hereunder, of the full term o the school year unless written permission is given by the Principal of the School for an earlier termination." I need to sign an intention to return next year but they are changing my job description and reducing my pay 1/5 because I will be teaching only 4 days.
