Should I sue for severance pay?

After 22 months of service I was laid off along with 5 other employees with no notice. There reason allocation of staff due to budget problems. They let go of the Nurses with the least amount of time. No letter of severance and not to sue agreement was presented. I received all monies earned as per time worked which included approx 33 earned hours of vacation and they agreed to extend my health insurance that I paid for for 30 days due to scheduled. They also instructed me to file for unemployment. after 3 weeks I just received my first check for $297 after taxes. Should I sue for severance?
