Salary Cap/Bonus

1. My employer decided to put a year salary cap. Therefore any inflation raises are paid to me in a lump sum and does not get included on the overall pay.

2. My employer bought my past company and contacts with it. Therefore I received a bonus that was stated so long as I worked for the company I would get a certain amount. Then later the new company came up with another bonus plan for everyone that is paid on how much money the company made and the employees job performance. Since these are two different plans shouldn't I be able to get both?

bonus plan

There is no way to answer the question without seeing your documentation. I recommend you see a local employment attorney. Often when companies merge the employees will be under the new plan. However, the old plan may have guaranteed your bonus and you could be due both.
