SALARY TO HOURLY

I'VE BEEN WORKING FOR THIS COMPANY FOR 5 YEARS AT MY 2ND YEAR THEY PROMOTED ME TO OFFICE MANAGER AND THEY ALSO SWITCH ME FROM HOURLY TO SALARY AFTER JULY OF 2003 I WAS WORKING FROM 48 HOURS TO 56 HOURS A WEEK AND I NEVER GOT PAID ANY OVERTIME. NOW THEY SAID THAT THEY ARE GOING TO SWITCH ME HOURLY. MY QUESTION IS CAN THEY SWITCH AN SALARY EMPLOYEE TO HOURLY?
