Retroactive Pay Reduction.

Can an employer retroactively reduce your pay?
My situation: I was informed on the 10th of this month (Wed, Oct 10th, 2001) that my pay was being reduced, and that the reduction was retroactive to the 1st of the month. Is that legal?
I worked from the 1st of the month to the 10th believing that I would be paid the original rate.

Go to the Texas Workforce Commission and explain the situation. This may be a violation of the Texas Payday Law, and the investigators there may be able to help you.
