Retaliation after questioning payroll deductions? Cut hours and rumors of terminating me.

I heard rumors through colleagues that the company deducts pay out of paycheck for loss or shortages. This happened to other employees, and it happened to me. When it happened to me I refused to consent to them taking my money. I explained that it went against FLSA and State labor laws.

After all this was said and done, my employer cut my hours and they spread rumors that they were "trying to find a reason to fire me." I confronted my supervisor about this, as well as a corporate official; The supervisor stated that they were looking to fire me "because I was looking for another job." And the corporate official state that they were not trying to fire me, "but [that I] should have gone into the office to consent to the payroll deduction."

I have both conversations recorded, and the employer also told me that they are deducting money from me for accidentally printing a lotto ticket that I shouldn't have. I took a picture of the ticket, as well as they gave me the ticket "seeing as though [I] payed for it.

I'm so angry right now, I'm loosing money due to cut hours, and they have caused a hostile work environment due to spreading rumors that they're looking to fire me. Do I have any recourse on this? And what is your advice for finding a lawyer? I find that lawyers lean to the employers side, seeing as though they have the money.
