Overpayment of serverance due to an error on the companys part

I receive a severance agreement back in January. I was just sent an offer letter for rehire from the same company. In addition I was sent a document stating the company made an error in the agreement (which we both signed) stating I now owe them the overpayment per the company policy. wouldn't that be breaking the severance agreement? Am I under any obligation to pay them back the error they made?
