vacation time for public employees

some public employees are not covered by state law which requires that accrued vacation time be paid to departing employees. you should contact the dept. of labor standards enforcement (in the state pages of the phone book) and check to see if you are covered by the law or not. otherwise, you may have contractual rights to the money. check with your union.
good luck
