NC non-compete laws for hairstylists

I am a booth renter/independent contractor hair stylist in North Carolina. I had started work with a salon that the owner tried to call a barber shop, I signed a non-compete clause that said I couldn't work at a legit barber shop within a 25 mile radius from the shop until my one year mark. However, she has taken clients from her stylists, taken my hours away from me, and started slandering my name while still working there. I was losing money and quit before a year had passed. I started at a salon recently. The owner of a barber shop, is allowing me to keep practicing and perfecting my mens haircuts for free. She is now trying to come after me, after sending her daughter to watch me, saying that I am violating the contract. My question would be, does she have a legal leg to stand on, or is she in the wrong?
