My manager is threatening punishment or termination for something my supervisor under him authorized me to do while he was employed with us. Does this hold any weight?

I work in a call center, an agent from another department asked me to assist a customer with changes to their account they werent able to make themselves. I did so without speaking with the customer, but both of us fully documented their account as is usually requested.
