Most of the people in our office are being laid off some are pregnant due before thier last day

If an employee has a last day of September 15th and are offered a stay bonus to stay until September 15th. They are due to have their child around that time. If they go out before their last day do you have to extend that last day to fit 12 weeks of FMLA and do you have to pay the stay bonus? Is there also a difference between a planned leave or unexpected leave and the FMLA and stay bonus.
