Is this a case of gender discrmination or am I crazy?

I have worked as a sales rep in Houston for a New York company for 3 years. I recently resigned because I felt I was being discrminated against. The company who will remaing nameless, hired a less experienced male and payed him twice my base salary with the same commission strucure & benefits. I asked for a raise and was turned down because the company couldn't afford it. The company then gave my counterpart a computer that they had promised to me that I have been waiting patiently for. They (The nameless company) have extended an offer to my replacement who is a male and are willing him twice my base salary also. This company by the way has no female management. Am I being overly sensitive or does this seem to be a problem?

gender discrimination

Seems like a gender problem to me--under Title VII, the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act and the Equal Pay Act. The more complicating feature, however, is your resignation. Whether it constitutes a "constructive discharge" is a tough question in our federal circuit. I would urge you to contact a lawyer directly who will explore the facts and determine if you have something that can be remedied through legal action.
