Is it possible to request severance when furlough period keeps getting extended?

I have been laid off since March 2020 due to covid. Most of my team was let go permanently in September and were paid severance. I have now received a letter stating my furlough has been extended again until April 2021. At this point I want to move on but wonder if I can ask for severance so that I at least have an income. I have been with the company since 2001 and know they paid my colleagues one week of pay for each year worked. To note they had offered a one time payout of less than $5k (before taxes) which honestly given my time and experience with the company seemed like an insult. Just not sure what recourse or right I even have since I do not believe the WARN act protect me due to covid. Thanks in advance
