I am currently a principal software engineer the aquiring company offer is for a infrastructure engineer position. Even though the compensation package slightly better then my current one. Being switched to a infrastructure engineer has a definite lower ceiling and future compensation then those who remain a software engineer. I have been there for 13.5 years is there anyway I can push for a severance package instead? Or if I don’t take the offer I lose the possibility of severance package?
