My daughter was just terminated from her position at a non-profit organization. She has been there for 12 years. She was offered a very small severance package ($7000) .Verbally she was offered a lesser position at the agency with a $10,000 a year pay cut

Her salary is $60k a year, been there for 12 years and only offered $7k severance. They had security walk her out of building in the middle of her shift. They offered her a lesser position at $10K pay cut but she only has 4 days to make that decision. Would she still be eligible for unemployment? She was recently diagnosed with BRCA1 gene mutation and she confided to her immediate supervisor. I suspect this might have something to do with her abrupt dismissal.

Before your daughter signs anything she should consult with an employment lawyer. There is much to discuss. Best.
