I am a manager. My Director ordered an administrative person to use 8 hours of my pto however I was at work from 7am until 11:30. She and I did not see eye to eye on a decision I made before ordering the use of my PTO. In my view this was retaliatory, unwarranted, and constitutes stealing. By forcing the use of my PTO, among other things she effectively took away what I earned. Our company policy cites stealing as cause for immediate termination. She cocealed this, she knew i was at work as she frustratingly let my staff know. She also indicated she would decide who uses PTO and who doesnt. I brought this to her attentiin three times and framed it as stealing. She finally gave my PTO back but has since asked me if I want to continue working for her. I have the HR Vice President I can speak with but I do know they soend alot of time together. We have a hospital attorney but I cant decide that speaking with het is aporopriate or not. I dont know what the best decision is except that I feel I need to report this. Please help.
