I HAVE AN ABUSIVE EMPLOYEE BUT THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT

I am president ( in title only of a small company (5 employees) . I have one employee who has given me problems for the last year. He now refuses to do anything I ask and has threatened me repeatedly. Two weeks ago he said if I talk to him at all he will beat the crap out me. The owner of the company is aware of the problem but refuses to do anything about it. I told the owner if the employee continues I was going to fire him & have the police escort him out. The only response from the owner was not to make threats. Do I have any legal rights in ths bad situation? I am 69 years old, in good health and have no plans to retire now. The employee is 52.
