Hi Mel, I had a surgery and took some PTO but i also mentioned to them that while i am out i would work from home. Now since i worked from home at least 4 days out of 10 should they only put 6 towards my PTO and 4 regular pay? is that fair if they refuse?

I had a surgery and took some PTO but i also mentioned to them that while i am out i would work from home. Now since i worked from home at least 4 days out of 10 should they only put 6 towards my PTO and 4 regular pay? is that fair and if they refuse can i tell them they are violating some law? I am in california and i am salary exempt employee
