Do I have any legal recourse?

This past week I received an invite to participate in a class action lawsuit against a Senior living community.

When I resigned from there in September 05 there was a management meltdown--lots of employees walking out and quitting etc

In January of the following year I took a position with another assisted living facility in a "ramp up " stage.

One of the families from the previous place of employment sent an email to the new facility where I was working and stated that she had been told by the ED with the previous employer (who ultimately was let go) THAT I was let go because " I couldnt do my job"

My resignation was online and completely on the record. The defamation was clearly an attempt of the Ed to cover up my resignation and not let the families know the truth.

This did of course cause problems at my new position and I did move on from there.
