Do I have any defense if hr/mgmt are trying to say I said something that I never said?

Hello- I was accused of calling colleague a profane and offensive term. I had an eye witness come forward who watched/heard the entire exchange and said that I never said one profane word or negative name call to that colleague. Even after that statement to HR, management is telling me that that witness coming forward didn't change their claim... how is that possible? They keep saying they have "corroborated evidence" but to me, it looks as if someone's trying to get me fired. What should I do?
