Can I force a layoff if my employer wants to demote me or get me to resign?
My company is forcing me to take a demotion or to resign. I want them to lay me off but they refuse to. Im assuming it is because they dont want to pay for unemployment. Can they legally do this? I have zero disciplinary actions and have worked here for over 2 years. The positions they are offering, with one being a previous position, would aggravate my military-related disabilities.
